Just Stop It

You might have seen this brilliant Bob Newhart video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYLMTvxOaeE) that pretty much sums up what most of us have wanted to say to partners, friends or family at some point. There is actually so much wisdom in his short interaction. Rather than analyzing or trying to change the interior of his client, his just advises one thing.  In the evolutionary process each of us engage in day to day, there is definitely a place for making a Kali move with ourselves and cutting through patterns and cycles that just don’t work any more.

I like to start something new on the heels of stopping something that I’ve decided to end. For example, when I decided to stop criticizing Gay, I started a habit of liberal appreciating that continues to expand magic. When I chose to stop criticizing myself, to just stop it, I wondered for a while how to replace the adrenaline rush of feeling bad about myself then rolling the ball uphill to improve myself so I could meet some elusive criteria that I couldn’t meet. One day I committed to finding my purpose, so that all my choices could align with my core values and deepest desires—so much more efficient.

So by all means Stop It, and start something juicy that gives you much more satisfaction than messing up, hoping to do better and then sabotaging yourself. I recommend the appreciation and purpose moves , and also focusing on giving more time each day to your creativity. What  are you stopping and starting today?
